The Experience

Custom photography is all about the experience.  It’s finding a photographer with a style you love and who will give you the personalized  experience that you deserve.  You’re not trusting your memories to “snapshots”; by reserving your session with me, you can feel confident you have chosen a photographer with years of photography experience, who can offer quality portrait art to preserve your precious memories.  My clients receive a full service portrait experience, and I schedule a limited number of sessions so I can devote the time that is needed to each client who reserves their session with me.

Sessions include a pre-session consultation by telephone, devoted shooting time in studio or outside, an online gallery for downloading and ordering if desired, and professional quality portrait art.  Studio sessions take place in my spacious studio equipped with professional lighting and backdrop systems, as well as tasteful, timeless props.

I am usually fully reserved a few months in advance.  Sometimes I can take on a “last-minute” session; but to guarantee availability for the month you’re interested in, it’s best to connect with me 3-4 months in advance.   Please use the contact form (HERE) to inquire.  I’m happy to send you the password to view my session guides, which contain more information about session types, pricing, and so on.

KIND WORDS FROM CLIENTS
You may notice when looking through my galleries and blog that I have several repeat clients over the past 10 years.  There are a number of kiddies I’ve been photographing since they were babies – or even before they were born!  Here are some excerpts from comments I’ve received from clients.

“…the quality of your work surpasses any others around.”
“I have never experienced the setting, the patience and the kindness that you shared in capturing our little creation…”
“Your professionalism and patience were amazing…not once did we feel rushed…”
“The pictures turned out better than I ever could have imagined…the quality of the pictures is unbelievable.”
“I have to tell you that I have never been so pleased with any photographer like you before…so worth the drive to Bay Roberts!”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are your session options and pricing?
I offer two main types of sessions:  mini milestone session (maternity, baby milestones – 3 months, 6 months, 12 months – and children), and a petite new life (newborn) session.  Sessions start at $200.  Occasionally, I offer special mini sessions at a special rate (for example, Christmas sessions).  Please contact me for additional details and pricing information.

When should I reserve my newborn session?
I suggest connecting with me in your second trimester to reserve your session.  I will add your name to my calendar for when your baby is due to arrive, to reserve “time” in my schedule for your session;  however, since your actual session date depends on when your baby makes his/her grand entrance, you will need to contact me the day after Baby arrives to book the exact date and time of your session.  It is important to reserve your session before Baby arrives, to ensure I’m available to photograph your baby within the “newborn” time frame.  In order to achieve the newborn poses you see in my gallery, I photograph newborns 5-10 days after birth (unless extenuating circumstances or medical concerns delay the session).

Do you edit your photographs?
Images are individually hand-edited (not batch processed), with careful attention to detail, to enhance the beauty of the individual(s) and compliment my artistic vision for the portrait.

Do I get digital images?
My clients recognize the importance of tangible, physical photographs that can be viewed and appreciated not only by themselves, but by their children and grandchildren years to come.  I hand process every image individually to ensure the best color, clarity, sharpness and overall quality, and I work with a professional lab to produce your portrait art.  Ordering fully processed prints and products guarantees superior quality compared to printing unprocessed images yourself at a local chain lab.

You will receive high resolution digital images in your online gallery, which are suitable for printing up to 8×10.  Your session fee includes a credit that can be used towards the purchase of a wall portrait (larger than 8×10).

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes!  Portrait art is the gift that lasts a lifetime.  Certificates are customized and personalized.  Some people provide a certificate to cover the entire cost of a session; while others provide a certificate for a dollar amount towards a session.  Gift certificates are also available for the Basic Photography workshop.
