Photography Workshops
BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
I love the saying “it’s not the camera that takes great pictures, it’s the person”. This is soo true! It’s not about having the latest and most expensive camera; it’s about knowing what your camera can do, when and how to use its features…and having “the eye” to see and compose great shots.
MYTH: You can take great pictures because you have a dSLR camera.
FACT: You need to learn how to use your dSLR camera in order to take great pictures! (and of course, you need to learn the fundamentals of photography too)
I could buy the best guitar available and I still would not be able to play music! I would need to learn how to use it (and the fundamentals of music) before I could play it.
Have you spent hundreds of dollars on a digital SLR camera but you still just “point and shoot”? This workshop is for beginner photo enthusiasts who want to get out of auto mode! You will learn how to manually set the aperture, shutter speed and ISO to be able to take better pictures. The workshop covers these and many other functions of your camera, as well as great composition techniques and more. The focus will be on the practical info you need to know, not the technical science behind it. This is a hands-on workshop; you will need to bring your camera. It is intended for entry level digital SLR users.
The Basic Photography workshop runs approximately 6 hours, starting at 10 am and finishing up around 4 pm. The Basic Photography workshop is held in Bay Roberts. The registration fee is $105. Please see registration information below.
Private group workshops available! The above information applies to private workshops as well, but we can work out a date that works for your group. Minimum of 4 people required.
*NEW* Private ONE-ON-ONE Mini Workshops now available! I’ve had several requests for private individual workshops, so I’ve decided to offer a condensed version of the regular workshop for individuals interested in this option. The private mini workshop is a 1/2 day lesson, and the registration fee is $200. These mini workshops can accommodate a 2nd person if the registrant would like a spouse or friend to join them (an additional $100 registration fee applies only if the 2nd person will be bringing their own camera; but there’s no extra charge to bring someone as an extra set of ears :)). We will schedule a date that works for you, and full payment is due to reserve that date. The registration fee is non-refundable, but if you need to cancel, your date can be rescheduled once within 1 year.

In August 2011 I had the great opportunity to attend one of Brandi’s workshops. As an amateur photographer, of many years, I wasn’t sure what I was really going to get from it… boy was I pleasantly surprised!!! I learned more about my camera that day then in anything I had done in the past. After attending the workshop my camera became a completely different tool for me. Thank you Brandi your workshop was AWESOME!!!!!!! – Kim GS

THE PERSON BEHIND THE CAMERA
I’m Brandi! I have swam with the dolphins in Mexico, toured the rainforest in Grenada, walked Hollywood Blvd in California, sailed by the Statue of Liberty in New York, snorkeled with the fish in Honduras, kissed a stingray in Grand Cayman, fed giraffes in Florida, gambled in Las Vegas, and soaked up the sun in Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Tortola and Jamaica. And my camera has been with me for it all! Yep, I’m the crazy girl carrying 20+ pounds of camera gear through the airport 😉 My camera is the tool I use to capture the details that I don’t trust my brain to remember!

I think you’ll agree that the years go by too quickly. I love capturing those moments in life that have passed before we know it, but that we never want to forget!
